Solar Activity
Eutelsat is aware of a current high level of solar activity. We are monitoring the situation closely, and comparing with periods of relatively high activity in the past. Periods of higher activity have occurred in the recent past without impact on Eutelsat's satellites.
Eutelsat's fleet is designed and tested to the highest specifications in terms of space environment, including resilience to solar flux, the value of this having been demonstrated by the high quality and continuity of service offered via our fleet during previous periods of high solar activity. We do not expect any impact on our fleet or the service quality due to the current solar activity.
Meteor Showers
Eutelsat vigilantly follows space weather activity and predictions, including meteorite showers. There are no predicted meteorite showers having a particle density higher than the normal in the vicinity of the geostationary arc.
Previous periods of relatively high particle density have shown that the risk of impact by a meteorite is extremely low. We continue to monitor predictions closely, but do not expect any impact on our fleet or service quality due to the predicted low meteorite densities.
